Southwest Tech Fightin' Donkeys

I designed this logo for American sports radio personality, Steve Czaban in 2001. If you ever listened to Czabe talk to Bob & Brian in Milwaukee, you know what it's all about.

NIN in Minneapolis this Tuesday

Whoops, forgot. Now what?

Screen Printing 101: Air Fresheners

This was my first crack at screen printing while in school (1997). I actually used therma-fax screens, if you know what those are. The concept of my independent study was to focus on everyday items that people take for granted. Things we look right through. I still enjoy looking at these guys!

...btw, the blank spot is actually a "generic" tree printed white on white. It's great in person, because you can only see it when the light hits it just so. My advisor liked the concept so much, he used it in one of his works (a tribute to Monet, a UPC code done in white on white). Here's a hat-tip to Lawrence Harrison.

Past Web Design Work (circa 2001): Beauty Milwaukee

Beauty is a fashion salon located on the east-side of Milwaukee. Their cuts and styles are that of a New York salon. Tom Miller, the owner of Beauty, shot all of his own photos with his own models. Tom has always been determined to keep Milwaukee on the map in the world of fashion/design. He even produced a magazine (titled beauty) with limited ads, paying for it on his own...just for the sake of the scene!

Tom was very open with the design of the site, trusting in the concept I came up with early on. While I would make some changes to the way I constructed the site, the design still stands up to today's fashion sites. Beauty's current site can be found at: http://www.beautymilwaukee.com .

P.S. Tom, if you find this, give me a shout!

My inner Michael Hutchence

Working on a little somethin' somethin' for an upcoming tutorial video and trying to evoke Michael Hutchence.

Wish me luck!
